I just checked and saw that it wouldn't cost very much more to buy deluxe AP's so I think I will do that. We still want to do an early entry day though, so how do we work this out? Do I buy park hoppers to just cover the first few days when we will use the EE day, and then upgrade or what? When should I do the upgrade and where? How does the cost work out as far as the exchange amount between the tickets and the passes. I have seen posts on here before but I didn't pay much attention since it wasn't an issue for me then. Thanks for any help you can give me on this!

But there are only two days blocked out in September for Deluxe AP's, the 3rd and 4th. So you do not have to worry about those.

So to take advantage of the 10% off most food puirchases and selected DtD discounts, I would upgrade the day you use the Early Entry.

After the park officially opens and gets busy, just head to the Bank of Main Street, near the Main Street Train Station.

The entire family needs to go, since everyone will have to have their picture taken.

When you get to the Bank they will give you full credit for what you paid for your ParkHoppers, and charge the difference in price to whatever the Deluxe AP price is that day (currently $229).

I am assuming that we should wait till we are done to do the upgrading because the DAPs would not work for Fastpass or parkhopping due to it being a blackout day, right? Is the bank open all the hours that the park is open? Do you get the discounts even on your blackout days? Thanks!

It's supposed to work, but occasionally doesn't which causes a delay to fix. Get a 1 day ticket, upgrade after your last entry. Fastpass after upgrading on a blockout day worked for me a couple of weeks ago.

"Is the bank open all the hours that the park is open?"

    yes

"Do you get the discounts even on your blackout days?"

blockout admission is purely admission, no other benefits *BAWL*
