Even calling this a "teaser" is a crime because that video is more than 10 minutes long and entirely explains everything. Consensus: FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE and disappointingly unconvincing.

I think that it does a good job of keeping the original characters, but presenting an entirely new story line. I don't know how they could tell this story while spending the majority of the film in the Grid, but it would be interesting to see. It seems like this story would be a lot more approachable to most, since it's not as based in a fantasy world. Personally, I think that Tron: Legacy did well, but didn't get the review that it deserved. It wasn't quite what I was expecting, but it uses very traditional archetypes, which tends to lead to a story that can be told many generations later. I also think that they avoided the over-use of meaningless computer terms that makes the original film almost impossible to watch for people too young to remember how computers functioned in 1982, which means that it will have a longer lasting audience. No, the impact to the film industry that the first one had (it was judged to be ineligible for an effects Oscar, since it 'cheated' by using computers), but I think that it will be far more enjoyable to watch years from now. This preview/short/whatever it is seems to present a completely different story than the other films, yet revolve around the same characters. I'm very interested that RAM to see that is back and what he'll do, since there was absolutely no mention or reference to him in the sequel. I was a little worried about what a third film would bring, but this approach seems like it would do a great job of continuing the story. And it's also interesting that there's no apparent mention of Quorra.
