I feel the theory has strong merit. Given the recent demonstrations in Iran over the election results, I find this anniversary particularly compelling. It serves as another reminder of oppressed individuals long past their breaking point, gathering en masse to revolt. This is the birth of cultural revolution, and has been for centuries. Violence is never desirable but often the only means to the desired end. Happy Pride 2009.
