This really bothered me because I love to play with gadgets and gizmos, but there really isn't any and what is there is hardly ever changed.

I have always felt that Innoventions is Disney's answer to a children's science museum, and that it's there so that all us terrible parents who pull our kids out of school to take them to WDW will feel good about our decision because we can always take them to Innoventions and get them some "school time". I think the stuff there is not cutting edge technology because it is a reflection of what the schools are teaching ( i.e. fire safety to younger kids and ecology to older kids) and the schools are not teaching the cutting edge stuff. I don't have as much interest in science and technology as my kids, and I've never played a video game in my life, so while my kids spend two hours in Innoventions, my husband and I just find a comfortable place to sit and people watch.

I've seen some drawings of the plans, but I haven't been back there is a while so I can't tell yet if what they planned is actually what they're doing. It was supposed to take a month or so to do.

Then they do a presentation from one of the exhibits for the batch of people that just came in. After that, you're let go into the rest of the exhibits. At WDW you just walk in from any of several doorways, and you're in the exhibits.

I think it can go for awhile more with the same program but eventually will need the final scene updated. Or drop the 20's section and move the 50's to that spot then the 80's then the future/present. I won't hold my breath for that one. The mechanics need work. Last time I saw it the father in the 20's section spoke without moving his lips. A good thing if your a ventriloquist but not so much if you're trying to speak. That scene also had the "daughter" brushing her hair and her arm and hand became separate objects and her hand with the brush just flopped around. Kind of spooky!

This attraction COULD be as relevant today as any IF WDW/WDI updated it and brought it into the 21st century. But no one seems to be pushing that ...
