I'm going with "Tornado", actually, I'll explain my reasons later but I want to hear some other thoughts first.

    I left out tsunami too.

Just stuck to our original three from that other thread. ;)

(should Mt Fuji decide to clear her throat, I could very well find myself a part of a FOURTH unique natural disaster someday...hopefully not though knock on wood!)

Interestingly, I feel much more confident in dealing with tornadoes (I suppose that had to do with spending time with family in the midwest many summers during my youth). Would be interested in hearing any and all safety tips on quakes you might have...if you want to start a topic on that maybe (given the recent LA quake, I'm sure lots of people would appreciate it and I know I sure would...I still don't know what the hell to do really and feel like it's very UN-survivable here if the big one hits!).

Interesting answers, thanks guys. Please, keep em coming!

Don't you live in a desert?

Isn't that pretty much a sustained natural disaster? ;)

    Seems so.

Thing about quakes, to me, is even though you could've experienced a ton of them and felt really "comfortable", that's sort of like saying "I've been out in my rowboat lots of times in the rain, no worries" while an approaching hurricane looms nearby.

The "big one" is something none of us have been through (even "big ones" of recent years don't compare to that 8.3 monster in China...and it's certainly possible in Cali and where I live as well...in fact we had an 8.0 offshore just a few years ago).

I dunno, rather than feeling "better" the more quakes I experience the more uneasy I feel. BUT, I did not grow up with them, so that might enter into it I guess.

and got hit with the tropical storm left over from a Hurricane in Florida.

    all scary in someways -

the most shocking was the earthquake because you get no warning, and by the time you figure out what the hell is going on and what to do, it is over.

for worst though I'll go with Hurricane because it lasts so darn long. A cat 4-5 would be a nightmare I believe.
An F3 - F5 tornado is as destructive a force as thereis on earth - but you usually get a warning and if you have a basement or tornado room - your chances of surviving are high -

I wouldn't be able to take worrying about an impending hurricane. It would drive me nuts, especially after that huge windstorm we had in the Seattle area in Dec. 2006. Now I worry about storm damage a lot more than I used to. We have so many huge trees around our house.
