I'm still not sure how many people who try out will actually be able to sing as well as they think they can. This show is all about the guests they get that day, and if there aren't any good ones, it will be a very rough day.

I also hope that it won't take too much time out of the person's day, but it sounds like it's quite an undertaking, especially for the finale show. It does sound like they will be getting some special perks, which should help make up for the time lost in never-never land getting ready. It sounds to me that a person who makes it to the final round could easily spend half of the park's operating hours (4+ plus hours) in that one building doing stuff for the show. Between trying out, prepping, performing, rehersing for the second show, prepping again, and performing again, that's a lot to ask of a person who just wants to go have fun at a theme park. I'm sure there will be fanatics who will love every second of it, but it seems like a lot of time to be seperated from your family on your family vacation (though that could be a good thing...).

I also hope that they have some plan for what to do with all the people who don't make the cut. With any form of art, there's destined to be disagreement, and I would bet that some of these could get pretty ugly. Maybe hand out pins that say "I Auditioned!" or something like that, but I still feel like there could be problems.

And I'm also not sure about the scheduling of it. They claim to have 7 shows, plus the finale, but I'm not entirely sure how this will work out. It sounds like the first round shows will be running pretty much continuously through the morning and early afternoon (starting every 30-45 minutes), and then the finale later in the day. Depending on how it's marketed, people could completely bypass the morning shows and just head in for the later one. This could make for awkward early shows (especially on days with light crowds), where the contestants are basically singing for their families and the judges. It could also create a crowd control nightmare as more and more people only show up for the finale (which sounds to be the most interesting of the shows), but not let in because of the huge crowds. I know I'm probably picturing this the wrong way, but coming from DL, I'm picturing folks in the know getting there over an hour ahead of time, and attracting more people, so the average tourist wouldn't stand a chance at getting in. With the TDL-style mob I'm imagining, it would be a madhouse getting folks in, especially after empty shows earlier in the day. I guess WDW has more tourists, so it would work out better, but I still fear the way the crowds are distributed through the different shows through the day.

I really want this to be a successful show, since it's so unique to the theme park world, but I am still not sure about all the details of it. I'm hoping that a lot of the problems will just sort of disappear or get modified (like dropping the finale show and just having preliminary-esque shows all day), but I am worried about those first few weeks while they get everything worked out.
