Plus the band is getting boring. they were good the first few times i saw the show, but now I realize it is exactly same show every show day in and day out. Yes Laughing stock is bascially the same premise every day, but at least with audience participation there are sublte changes each time you see it. I am getting tired of the joke about Small World. Ok we get it. It is a simplistic attraction. get some new material already.

She wanted to know what the strange thing was on my ear and I handed it to her and told her that when it "beeped" (it was going to voicemail), just say "Kimberly's standing by the fence by the Riverbelle." She did it and it was TOO funny! I like the pirates very much and get a huge kick out of them... However, I really don't care much for the idea of them taking over Tom Sawyer Island.

Disneyland has always had fairly timeless themes for the lands (sure, there was a western craze in the 50's, but it is still easy to imagine yourself there now) but thinking for the short term will look alright now, but terrible in a few years. If they do go through with the TSI rehab (I really hope they don't), it is just a matter of how long the popularity of the movie will keep it up, before it goes back to the 'dreadful' numbers of people who go there now. TSI was never meant to be a huge E-Ticket attraction that everybody and their uncle visits. It was supposed to be a place to get away from everything and escape and lose yourself in the scenery. If they add a pirate themed playground, it will be no different than standing over by Goofy's house in Toontown where there is no lack of everyday stress.

But all of these new Johnny Depp shirts feel like more advertising. It almost seems like there is a greater variety of Pirates shirts than there is of some of the original Disney characters. Please don't get me wrong, I love Pirates and I love the movies, I've seen them dozens of times. I miss certain parts of the old ride, but I also like the changes. I think the shows and characters planted around the area are charming although more variety in the material would be good. I don't think Disney needs any more of it though unless they want to make a pirates-themed land just like they have Adventureland or Frontierland.

This affects almost everything about Disney from the parks to the merchandising. I understand they're trying to please the masses who want to share in an experience, whether it be a Disney classic, pirates or Pixar, but the glut of it all eventually turns me off. "The Nightmare Before Christmas" is a case in point for me. I used to like the movie; now I can't stand it. I am all for keeping things fresh and exciting for generations of present and future park visitors and fans, and I wish I had some easy answers on how to keep a balance between the new and the classic. All I know is that it will be a while before I visit a Disney park again, and I'm changing my plans to spend my 40th birthday in '08 somewhere else other than WDW.
