Hoping someone out there can help me with this possible rumor... I am hoping it's only a rumor!

Is there any truth to the rumor that the Haunted House Holiday Overlay is not coming back next year?

    Thanks a bunch!

Disney is so far happy with the response to Halloween Time that started this year, and is planning to expand the offerings next year, so there is no way they would remove one of the key features of the event......

Thanks for the correction, doombuggy... I don't think I want to walk around with stale churro slashes on my back!

Sorry to everyone for calling the Haunted Mansion by the wrong name.

Thanks, Darkbeer for putting that rumor to rest for me. Much appreciate it!

I have to say, I loved the job they did. Mansion is a usually a second-tier attraction for me. I know that some people think it's just the greatest ride ever, but for me it's just "okay". But I really enjoy HMH thoroughly, probably because I liked the movie and am a full-out fan of danny elfman.

I would even say that I enjoyed the exterior decorations and garlands as much as the changes to the ride itself.

But since Holiday came around I love to ride the Haunted Mansion every visit during October thru December. And then, I find I enjoy riding Haunted Mansion during the rest of the year at least once just to remind myself what it is like when it's not the Holiday version. Thus, since Holiday, my ridership of Haunted Mansion has increased greatly.

But until the Holiday version came along, I could take it or leave it when it came to riding the Haunted Mansion during an occasional visit to Disneyland.

On the DCA servey most everyone said they want more family rides, but now some people are saying the HM is second tier?! Is it any wonder then that Disney no longer feels that AA attractions are relevant.

Apparently the original was made of styrofoam (since the overlay was only supposed to be around for two years) and was showing some wear and tare. It makes very little sense that they would invest in a new mountain for just one year if they could still repair the old one and be fine with that, as they could destroy it after the overlay was over.
