Not saying it couldn't be done, but I'm pretty confident I'll be watching playoff baseball.

For the Phillies it's just a matter of getting and keeping everyone healthy through 33 games in the next 31 days.

If only the Angels could beat the freaking Rangers! We'd be in first by now.

Yeah, we had real hope this year and actually thought maybe, just maybe, we had an outside chance of getting into the playoffs. Well, after one 19-inning game against the Braves where the Pirates lost on a blown call by the home plate umpire, they went back to their old ways, losing 10 straight games, including three series at home against weaker teams. They redeemed themselves with a few following games, but have absolutely no chance of catching the Brew-Crew now. I suppose they're not mathematically out of it yet...they would need to win almost all of their games and hope Milwaukee and St. Louis just utterly collapse. But at least for one brief shining moment in July, the Pirates were in first place and there were Pennant hopes once again in Pittsburgh. Now, we're just hoping that they can be above .500 for the first time in 18 years. Maybe next year...maybe... Good luck to the Brewers in our division. You're certainly earning your playoff wings this year! (Maybe someday the Pirates can actually beat them!)

He is first baseman Freddie Freeman. Talented and unassuming, but a great player. I really enjoy rooting for him.

Honestly I don't think he goes to the Cubs. In a perfect world he stays here, but since that's not going to happen. I see either Angels or Blue Jays as his destination.
