Three of us missed most of the trip, and we had to have paramedics to the hotel twice for my dad. He spent two nights in the local ER. The doctors told us they'd seen a number of Disneyland vacationers in the last few weeks.

With so many people in the parks, it's easy for the virus to spread. So, if you are going beware! The flu shot didn't seem to help with this strain. As as one who was sick, I can tell you this one is nasty.

Most of the transmission isn't due to the close proximity of others.
It's from all the stuff you touch that has just been touched by someone else.
It could be money, souvenirs or the miles of hand rails that kids hang and slide on.

I try to keep my hands to myself (in my pockets), as much as possible, while in public.

Needless to say, those who didn't get sick were passing around the hand sanitizer on a regular basis. Thank goodness my sister-in-law, who is 4 months pregnant, didn't get sick!

We'll try again when the 10 of us go to Yosemite in April :) Since my sil will be 7 months pregnant at that time, we'll just pray she doesn't go into early labor on the trip!

I keep getting this vision of guests wearing surgical masks and rubber gloves at the park.
You may have just saved someone's vacation.

My daughter was VERY sick with that last week--lasted on and off for four days.

When we go to Disneyland, we are big into the hand sanitzer and hand washing and all that. Still doesn't help with the airborn viruses, though. Some things you just can't avoid, unfortunately.

This makes it even more difficult to avoid! No shot for it or anything. Many people think that they're covered against "stomach flu" but unfortunately we're not. :( I'm glad to hear everyone is feeling better now and I'll be thinking about you guys for your trip to Yosemite.

My warning is so that people headed to the resort remember to wash, wash, wash and use those hand sanitizers!
