From what I saw, Mickey is only on the t-shirt for kids, but I'm undecided on that Mickey. He's a little too "Dancin' With The Stars" for me.

I go to DL because it's a happy positive place for me. I only clicked on the topic because I wanted to see if other posters agreed with the topic title.

I agree with most who stated their comments about the new DL specific design being fair-good. I kinda like it.

As for the general Disney parks logo, anybody who knows me or who may have read some of my comments over the years, that is a pet peeve of mine. It used to upset me a lot that in the 90's most items at DL were from WDW, and many didnt even have any reference to DL, even on Disneyland attractions [like monorail, and other original DL attractions] So I rarely like a non DL specific design for DL park items, except in the case of DL Hotel items or specific DCA designs.

However, almost anything with an original Disneyland logo winds my clock :)

I kinda like the spires of the castle coming out of the clouds with "dreams come true"

    Nice pics Darkbeer

oh I think I answered my own question, I seem to remember that it was a space constriction and handicap issue that closed those restrooms [if I am correct]

'Disney Parks' is a new one on me. I've never really heard it used before.

but I think I agree that anything which toutes a specific location (tangible memories ought to be park specific IMHO) is preferable. =) The lettering is nice though.

If I go to Disneyland I want something that says Disneyland on it. We went to WDW last year and I bought much less merchandise then I otherwise would have because everything was generic "Disney" stuff. I WANT the tshirt or toy to say where it came from...that is why it is called a souvenir.

I think they'll find out soon enough that the generic logos won't move off the sales floor. Watch for them at the outlet stores very soon.

But once again, we see disney repeating mistakes of the past. Didn't they already learn that park specific merch is what the public actually wants and buys? Or at least attraction specific. Given the incredible mark-up that disney charges within the parks, this generic 'disney parks' logo is almost insulting to the guests.

They shouldn't sell it at all, even in the outlet stores, because they shouldn't allow such a cynical and obvious marketing manipulation to remain in the public eye.

They need to box it all up and ship that stuff to somewhere like namibia, where no consumer will ever see it.

    Damage control.

But you see, it doesn't matter how much money they are making now. They have to show earnings *growth* each and every year (if not quarter) in order to get the stock price to increase. Especially in the face of coming off of the 50th celebration and what that did to attendance and sales, it will be difficult to achieve. But they will try to move heaven and earth to keep the earnings going higher even if attendance and sales are stagnent or go down, no matter how high the magins already are.
