Reports Disney's plans to utilize the old strawberry field land for 2,570 new parking spots for guests. According to the Orange County Register this would push the development of a new theme park on the property out 6 - 10 years.

And the plan is to use buses, just like they are currently using to service the Pumbaa, Anaheim GardenWalk and Buzz Lightyear lot (and ALL were being used today). Coach America will run the service.

The proposed plan is to have the Buses run in a loop.

Starting at the Strawberry Field, buses will run west bound through the main roadway and pickup passengers near the Toll booths, which will be relocated to the main roadway, from the side location where they are currently located for the Buzz Lightyear lot.

They will get to Harbor Blvd and make a right going north.

They will make a left at the Main Pedestrian Entrance Traffic Light and pull into the Main Tram/ART loading area.

After unloading and loading, they will exit the area, and more than likely make a left onto Harbor (to avoid the traffic issues with pedestrians crossing if they want to make a right hand turn). Go up to Manchester (where HoJo's/Mimi's is) and make a right. Manchester turns into Clementine, which takes you straight into the Katella CM Parking Lot entrance. The bus will go through the Cm lot and head to the Main Guest lot via the main roadway...

The tour buses are comfy but not very easy to get in and out of.

After closer inspection the site seems too small and the layout is very irregular. Also, the suburban apartment complexes surrounding the site seem at odds with a fully functioning theme park, plus it's completely detached from the DLR. Sorry, but I'm having a hard time envisioning that plot being a theme park.

Disney knows how to build a park that only attracts a few thousand guests per day.

    Ba dum bump.

Why is DL not moving forward with a new Parking Deck on Pumbaa? Seems like that plan has been back burnered? That site could connect to the tram pick up area via an underground tunnel to allow pedestrian traffic since the walk is not that long.

Is the Timon Lot officially gone? Basically will only the Disney Way extention road running behind DCA remain in 2012 after all the construction.

As for a new Parking Structure, they need the "temporary" spaces at the Strawberry field to be able to close Pumbaa (or maybe Simba) and allow for construction.

As for Timon, it is totally gone, in fact Disney removed the Timon Toll Booths. (They have new Toll Booths at Simba that they use).
