Not everyone can get there on that date and the MK will be so crowded it will feel like christmas. Disney is just bowing to the masses who complained about the absence of a celebration.

Still hanging on the hopes that there will be a new parade and specialty things for a whole year that are announced that day. It needs to be special all year, especially if they plan to sell the 40th anniversary merchandise all year. I mean, who is going to want to buy any of that, if there wasn't any celebrating of it during their stay there? I know I wont, not if my visit there in March seems like just any other year.
