We originally had a bunch of other plans too, but as the time gets closer the plans diminish. It has been a tough year for me personally, and both my wife and I have been extremely busy at work over the past few months. So we are thinking kind of a laid-back vacation of eating, drinking, and Go-Room activities might not be a bad way to spend our time. After all, we've heard that no matter WHAT we do, the folks back here in Minnesota won't hear about it. How cool is that??

We were just in Vegas over Memorial Day, stayed at NY/NY and saw Robin Williams on a one night only over at MGM's Grand Garden Arena. Sample riff: "DECIDER?? YOU'RE NOT THE "DECIDER"! It's not even a WORD! You're the President of the United States who is supposed to make DECISIONS. Now would be a good time to start." Check out the sportsbooks, see what the odds are on your Twins. So many people make sentimental bets on the Cubs each year the odds are never what they should be.

I really believe it was some of the most fantastic popular music ever written. I also enjoy ragtime, big-band, and Sinatra-style crooning too, so it's not like I'm just hung up on the music of my teens. It was truly exceptional music... I really miss the fact that we don't have anything of that quality today. My son also loved music from that era. Of course he listened to Nine Inch Nails, Nirvana, and other music of his time. But he also loved Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, Grateful Dead, etc. (Teach... your children well...). In fact his all time favorite group is Phish, which is really his generation's version of the Dead.
