I mean letter write, contact Al, the whole nine yards. Because MKs Mansion has ceased to exist. Its the same name but a different ride. It is no longer The Haunted Mansion as we knew it from 1971-2011. WDI has defecated all over it, its story and its heritage. The DL mansion MUST be preserved at ALL COSTS!!!! Don't let these 3rd gen Imagineers who got training from mail order art classes win!

MK's Haunted Mansion was blessed with plenty of outdoor space for an interactive queue. DL has hardly any.

Where would they put these elements?

    THERE'S NO ROOM!!

Remove the switchbacks next to the berm and the queue will be forced outside the attraction gate, blocking the walkway between NOS and Critter Country.

MK had the luxury of real estate to put in this interactive queue area. DL does not have this.

Chill out. It ain't gonna happen.

ALL COSTS???? Just how far are you willing to go? Will you chain yourself to the gate? Armed resistance? All costs is pretty extreme. ALL COSTS!!!! must be much more extreme.

None of these had much impact on my life. As a matter of fact, I like most of these. Alert level: Calm

I love that there's panic over changes that are unannounced and unlikely to happen.

This is my question, as well. I also think I might need "ROBBERS" explained.

I do think they were done a bit clumsily, and especially the Mansion one seems to strike the wrong tone and vibe before you enter the actual attraction that goes in an entirely different direction themewise with the opening acts.

But.... the concept of interactive queues do have merit. However, there is the ridiculous ankle-breaking bouncy pads they installed in the Pooh queue, which only cements my long held opinion that most Imagineers don't have children and have a poor grasp of how people actually use the Disney theme parks they design.

I said this in a WDW thread, but I'll say it again here. I'm very glad that WDW is the property spearheading this interactive queue concept. They can bungle and bumble their way through the learning process for the first few years out there in the swamp. Once the concept is more refined, Disneyland can allow the SoCal Imagineers who have a better grasp on storytelling and respect for the overall Disneyland Show to have a crack at installing some interactive queues out here. But not until 2013 or so, after a whole bunch of lessons have been learned by the messes they are making out in WDW.

Overall though, the interactive queue concepts have merit and possibility. Anaheim can happily wait a couple years though, thanks. ;-)

That said, I was talking to a coworker who was at WDW last week with a 4 year old. The standby wait for Pooh was an hour. She said the only thing that got her through that wait was the interactive elements they have put in the line.

I haven't seen them personally...but as a father of two young ones myself I can appreciate the sentiment. Yes, we all survived standing in lines when we were younger. We also survived without cell phones and flat screen tvs. But, life is more convenient (and...some might say more pleasant) with both.

I just got back from WDW. Aside from the temporary Hitchhiking Ghosts projections, the Mansion was the same as it has always been.

The new queue elements opened the day after I left, but, I have seen the photos and video of them. Yes, they are characture-ish. But, so are many of the characters in the ride. It's not like the ghosts are portrayals of realistic people.
