I am trying out Tropicana this trip. Close to right across street. Found good deal $99 night if stay 5 or more nights.

Go tripadvisors.com has up to date hotel reviews from real guest . not hotel owner.

However, the last time we went, we wanted to save some money and we tried the Anabella Hotel. It was kind of nice. Just a short walk, and you can enter thru California Grand into the park. I suggest, if you stay at the Anabella, ask for an upstairs room. The downstairs get a lot of "stomping" sounds. But then, that's fairly typical of all the older hotels/motels.

The properties around Disneyland vary from your basic "motor inn" Motels (with parking; rooms with exterior doors; in-wall air conditioning units; a small pool) to your Deluxe Resorts with multiple shops, restaurants, pools, gym facilities, bar(s)/lounge(s), etc. For the past several years, we have been staying at the Anaheim Hilton - you can get rooms with a full Buffet Breakfast (for 2) at around $140/night. If budget is your main concern, then some of the locations a little further out (but still walking distance) will be less Expen$ive!
