He just left a message on my phone saying that he wants that money and that he wasn't playing any more and he was going to kill us. I'm so scared. It's so frustrating that the police can't do anything unless he physically shows up. Just please, please pray that this all ends okay. I don't know where else to turn.

Thank you, everyone. I'm back home this morning. My grandmother and stepdad convinced me to go and stay with my grandparents last night (they live about 10 minutes away).

He lives in one county and I live in another. I did call his sheriff's department yesterday, and one of the officers called me back last night. He said that he went and talked to him, and while he didn't say much about their conversation, I gather that he told him not to harass me any more. I haven't had any more phone calls or visits, so perhaps that much is working.

I was going to go to that officer today and file a statement, which would have him locked up, but they could only hold him for 24 hours, and I fear that would only make him angrier. Instead, I am going to get a restraining order when my city's offices open up in the morning, and I'm going to have my phone number changed.

Part of the added stress of this situation is that my parents are out of town in West Virginia, so my immediate support system is gone. My poor mom. She's blaming herself for this, saying that if she were home, her brother wouldn't be harassing me. I feel so bad for her. At least they'll be home sometime on Tuesday.

I think his wife (or soon to be ex-wife, if she carry on with leaving him, as she told my step-dad she was going to) wants to have him committed, but she doesn't know how to go about it. Something really needs to be done. He is very unstable. There's this non-existant money he believes in, and there are other things too; a couple of months ago, he told my mom that Tom Welling, the actor who plays Clark Kent on Smallville, is their half-brother. It just doesn't make sense.

I appreciate all of you guys so much. Reading your kind thoughts and prayers has helped me to calm down a little more. Just continue to keep us in your prayers, if you would. **hugs**

We had a similar situation years ago with an extended family member and I remember how frightening it was. Good idea on getting your phone number changed. I remember the phone ringing would send feelings of dread to the pit of my stomach (in the days before caller ID).

Hugs for you and I hope your uncle seeks treatment very soon. I'll keep sending you hugs and safe thoughts :)

I am telling you this because when they got her on the right medication she was totally fine. I hope your uncle gets the help he obviously needs. I hope the legal professionals do their job and protect you.

Please do jeep us updated and I hope you get that restraining order promptly.

You may want to get motion sensitive lighting for outside your home, so that anyone approaching the house after dark will be bathed in light. Do continue to get the heck out of the house if you feel at all vunerable. And be sure to keep in touch with the police/sherrif and keep a paper trail going of any calls/letters, threats, so you have a lot of evidence that he is/may be dangerous.
