It just seemed as a no brainer to book Park Vue Inn since we too looked at tripadvisor and it got okay reviews. I'll be looking forward to your reveiw Jacobsmom.
Originally Posted By Zigsmom Yes, me too! I read the reviews from Tripadvisor also and it seemed okay. The picture of the room looks okay. Is there any other hotels really close?

As soon as we turned on the lights, the COCKROACHES scattered everywhere. GROSS! We asked the front desk what they could do for us. We asked to be compensated for our first night. Their response was "Well, someone in your party requested to be close to Harbor" Like we somehow knew the closer rooms had cockroaches. Sheesh. Anyway, the customer service was poor & the only thing they would do for us was to move us. We didn't meet anymore critters, but the rooms were very small, the ceilings were stained, beds were very uncomfortable & basically, it was just a dump. FWIW, it was our last time staying there. Our close hotel of choice is the Best Western Park Place Inn.

Perfect for the price and I only needed a place to sleep and shower, gotta spend all the time in Disneyland!

I had 3 nights reserved for our trip this coming week and just last week the price for the Grand California dropped and do did the other resort hotels. So, I cancelled 2 nights and will stay at the Grand Californian for the first time. It's great to stay right across the street just for the fact that you don't have to rush at closing to catch your tram or worry about making the last tram to the hotel. I'll report next week...

There were some mysterious stains in the shower and the carpet had this creepy kinda squishy icky feeling to it. The walls were all stained around the tops and bottoms and all around the air conditoner too. Even though it was cheap I would not recomend this one at all. ew. On the other hand, the Castle Inn is also inexpensive and I have had great experiences there (and its right across the street from the park, the walk will take about 1/4 the time) I would check them out.

(The pillows were very thin as well) My cockroach room was very similar to the room mickeymeg described. Dingy & stained & just gross. My favorite non-Disney hotel is the BWPPI. You honestly can't get any closer. I usually get great rates here: http://www.parkplaceinnandmini suites.com/ Also, try using TravelAxe for great rates.

Since reading the other post on this one, all I can say is we must have stayed in an older "suite".. It was close to the front and very old. I would not stay here again or at least make sure I got a newer remodeled room for the stay. From the pictures on the web site ours was old. I would pay the extra and stay at the BWPPI or the other that you liked. If you are thinking of going on the weekend for the longer hours, I would stick with the weekdays. We were so pooped from the crowds from the weekend that we were too tired to enjoy our weekdays when the park was totally empty. Wish we would have planned for midweek trip vs. weekend/weekday trip. Enjoy!

Shortened park hours 9-10, but hopefully less crowded than the week after easter. I hope you still had a good trip Jacobsmom. Juicer-I was reading your report to my dh and he just about gagged too. Housecleaning didn't even change the sheets. How gross.
Originally Posted By jacobsmom tooele13, you will really love the DHL I'm sure. We will stay there next time if we can afford off season as well. I found out this trip where it is now and the location since DTD is there. You are right there at the end of DTD and at the Monorail station. You can get into Disneyland right from there and forget about walking all the way to the main entrance and avoid the long lines for bag check and entrance. I thought it was very convienient to catch it to Tomorrowland. This also was our first time going into 'Innoventions" in Tomorrowland. If I had known it was such a cool place, I would have gone along time ago. It has alot of cool interactive things to check out. We ran out of time on our last day. My 11 year old son wished we had gone in there earlier. Oh well, next time.
