Yes I understand that it's an older attraction, but there a plenty of older attractions that can still wow you, Pirates, Space Mountain, HM.

Also I was a little uncomfortable riding it. I wasn't sure if you sit with your knees up of if you have to sit Indian style.

But this just lacked something that gave it that extra oomph for me.

But yeah, it's a 50 year old roller coaster. The thrills aren't going to be what they are on the newer coasters.

It has a lot of nostalgia factor, and I first rode it as a child in 1966. But I would never stand in a long line to ride it.

Matterhorn is truly unique, though I know nostalgia plays a significant part for those of us who list it as one of our favorite rides.

If you are tall, you will probably not be very comfortable in the new cars.

How many of you have ridden one or both sides and what are your opinions about the new cars?

Rode Space Mountain right after and those cars are much more comfortable (more padded).

Hearing the feedback, I thought my back would hurt more, but I actually found it similar to the old bobsleds. I just don't like how jarring the ride is overall. For me, I don't think any bobsled will prevent that whipping around.

I've done both sides over the years and it's pretty much common knowledge that the left side (Tomorrowland) is more thrilling that the right (Fantasyland). As for the new cars I didn't notice anything different in the ride vs the old ones. It's always been a very jerky bumpy coaster.

On the left side, after you do that little drop on the outside of the mountain, it kind of peters out. At the same point on the right side you duck back into the mountain and still have some pretty good track left.

I had to sit half Indian style, I guess, with one leg curled up and one in the stirrup. Putting both legs in the stirrups was just intensely painful to me. I miss the old cars.

I recommend requesting a front car seat and see how it works. Those are bigger than the others.

I'm betting you'd still fit. My problem was that they wanted me to sit with my feet splayed too far apart, and it friggin' HURT!!!

And I've done Goofy's Sky School once, and wasn't fond of being crammed in that way.

I'm 5'11" and it was fine. I didn't notice anything different in terms of comfort than before. Of course seat on the Matterhorn Bobsleds has never been a first class experience.
