Some of the arguments used here to bash DCA are no better than pure propaganda. Doesn't take an intellect to re-hash their own or someone else's previously made points, or just keep bringing up what is claimed to be irrefutable evidence of DCA’s terrible state of affairs.

Yes, DCA has it's issues. Yes, it isn't as successful as it was hoped. And yes, I know I don't have to read the bashing if it is tiring to me...

I just wish that instead of the making the same old points again and again, some fresh, relevant, timely and constructive comments were being shared. That would be more interesting to read and discuss.

Just needed to get this off my chest. We now return you to the regularly scheduled re-runs of discussions from all the bashers/re-hashers.

You know ... as I check the boards weekly ... DCA/Future Expansion has been pretty quiet for a few months.

There's nothing new to report on ... no new ride will be on the horizon for a while.. and as a result ...... I'm not seeing this "endless bashing" going on.

We'll have to wait for the opening of Midway Madness. Which is going to be a long time. .......... A very long time!

In the meantime .......... it's the same posters around here as it's been since I've been around. Now going on six years.

It's been so quiet in this section (when it comes to DCA rhetoric) ... I can actually hear the crickets churping from the bayou scene in the PotC show building.

    ;)

So... the bashers will continue to bash, because in some perverted way, it's fun for those guys. At least that's my take on it. Maybe they really are that angry. If they are, that's kinda sad. There are a lot of other things in this world to be angry about; a theme park is pretty low on my list.

Based on the titles (of course, IMHO) we have

17 discussing Current Events at DCA, such as the Cars Meet and Greet, the Electrical Parade going on Hiatus, etc.

23 talking about DCA in General, such as New Found Respect of DCA, the Wine Country Tratorria, etc.

    4 talking about Downtown Disney

1 was a combo of DCA and DtD

    1 dealt with the Hotels

3 dealt with other things, 2 seemed off topic, and the other one was dealing with the Garden Walk construction.

And 1 was a "Historic" thread, that brought in quotes made by senior Disney execs and others, plus instead of starting a new thread, added a 2006 quote from the Disney Blog (which is associated with LP) that matched up with the original post.

In the Historical quote thread, I found the article doing some research, and found some quotes that I had not seen (or at least remember reading), especially from Michael Eisner.

This is a discussion board, and if folks don't care about the quotes, the thread will die.

But History is a subject at school for a reason, and many folks have an interest in it.......

It's a slow quiet summer ... as most of us try to stay indoors at our computers (no doubt) to stay away from one of the worse summers Southern CA has suffered.

And better to get a little escapism to give a little dig now and then to our favorite park ;) ....... as there are worse things going on the world.

Some people get escapism going to the movies ... throwing on sitcom television .. and even the internet to revisit old stories ... no different in some ways than the same I Love Lucy episode we've seen a million times.

It's not a discussion of history to say over and over that Michael Eisner and Barry Braverman are talentless hacks. Some folks put forth relevent and thought provoking arguments, others here... well, they do not.

"I don't want to hear the same subject one more time!" ... and we some how forget there may be new posters interested in some of these stories.

Anything to draw on the negative.... over and over and over and over................ regardless... good point made Roger55 !!!!

But I can only imagine how offended and disappointed I would have been with that glorious gift from TDA. I truly find DCAs initial offerings to be pretentious and insulting, not unlike many of the people who created it.

Only in the last 2 years do we have reason to rejoice in the "positive" .. as executive changes have been going on ... And any attractions of the last 1 and 1/2 years have gotten POSITIVE feedback, such as Monsters Inc.

And me personally ... If we as a society don't point out the flaws in our world ... How do we expect to improve and thrive (?). Nothing is perfect.

Any product we consumers consume ... will either get praised and ask for more, Or we will make criticism to make necessary improvements if a company expects to sell its product.
