You're going to be there when the free dining is going on. I would suggest you book a package (room in one of the WDW resorts with tickets) and your food for the trip will be free! Also, staying at a WDW resort will allow you to use their free transportation. I personally would rather drive myself to most of the parks, but not having to get a rental car would be worth it to me. We're going end of September, and my husband insists we fly. So in order to save money, I think I will be at the mercy of Disney Transportation.

As to the second part, there's just no way to answer that question, as it depends on so many other factors. Which is your favorite park? Do you get up early on vacation or late? What kind of ticket are you getting, and does it have park hopper features? I concur with t1lersm0m - get the Unofficial Guide and read it cover to cover. Then come on back and ask any specific questions you might have. Good luck!

If you want to stay off property you can get some cheaper rates, but for me it just isn't worth it unless you're totally strapped for cash. It's much nicer to stay at the Pop Century (a much better property than the All Stars!). I always rent a car even when on property, but you can do just fine with Disney transportation with a little planning.

Do buy the unofficial guide by Bob Sehlinger. That is ALL you need as I've read them all and have Bob's memorized. You will know everything there is to know
