We checked our bags in at our hotel and got our airline tickets, then off to one last trip to HS.

We had a coupon for a free 5x7 photopass picture so the kids stayed in line to get one while I did a little more shopping.

Then we finally saw the Little Mermaid show, and it was pretty decent. We also hung out in the animation building and met Frozone. The Bolt characters were also there but the line was way too long for that.

Then we went into the One Man's Dream building and looked at all of the displays. What a great building this is. Very interesting. And the movie on Walt is outstanding, too.

It was almost time to catch our DME bus to the airport so we had time for just a few minutes more of shopping. MrPB bought a pin and had it signed by the artist. We happened upon this by accident so it was a nice treat.

We made it back to our hotel in time to catch the bus and realized that we still had some snack credits left on our dining plan. I got our carry-on luggage out of storage while the kids went to get snacks for our plane ride.

We had an Army soldier on our flight, and lots of people thanked him for his service to our country. Some folks even cleared a whole row of seats and asked the flight attendant to let him stretch out using the whole row for himself. He was grateful and thanked everyone..he had a second flight to catch to Hawaii to return to duty and appreciated the rest.

We hope to return to WDW soon, but might rethink our choice of hotels. I realize that the problems we had can occur just about anywhere, but I'm wondering if these same things would have happened at the Polynesian or Fort Wilderness Lodge.

Thanks for enduring our lengthly trip report...it was fun taking little breaks and updating my notes throughout the trip.

Sadly these problems can and do happen at the deluxes too. When we stayed at Animal Kingdom Lodge in 2006, they messed up and gave us a smoking room after confirming in advance and at the front desk it was non smoking (ok, one mistake right?). We got to the second room and it had a broken light fixture (they repaired when we alerted them). Under the bed was filthy and 2 days our room was not cleaned (what makes it worse is Jessica was in a pop cot, so her head was very close to the floor, not good). Sarah ripped her jeans on a broken chair in the Mara restaurant. They do not have any food avail between 11pm and 7 am. And in the shop, when we were exchanging our pal Mickey for the 4th time (in three days - he kept braking), the lead treated us like we were time wasters.

There was also a broken washer in the laundry and we had a similar change issue as us.

Add in we waited an ave of 40 mins for a bus to the parks we wanted to go to.

We love the design, pool and restaurants, and of course seeing animals from your room is awesome. But I doubt we will stay there again unless the kids really beg. We had a better time at POR (or Dixie Landings) in 2000 sadly.

There is nothing in WDW that offers the quality of the Grand Californian sadly.

Thank you for taking the time to write the trip report, it was a great read. I am glad overall you guys had a good time, but I wish it were better.

Perhaps they would have had a better time at the CBR?

I thought you said when this happened they gave her a voucher or such to take to a store to replace the pants.

We have loved CBR (the caribean version) 3 times now and the only reason we are going to try POR is because I do not want to stay in a finding Nemo or POTC themed room.

Oh ...some of us would love to hear all about this unfortunate incident and, more importantly, Disney's response.

Here's hoping POFQ is a bit better than it's sister resort. We will take Ursula's advice and be sure to report issues immediately. (Fingers crossed there won't be any, though.)
