Let it go. It's time. I would love a new night parade at Disneyland, and you could use the DEP as an inspiration for some base music tracks and a few icon floats, but get something new and 21st century instead. It's time to just let it go. I loved it in the 20th century, but I won't miss it. I don't even have plans to seek it out at DCA over Easter vacation to say goodbye. Been there, done that, bought the lightbulb. I've let it go.

The design is already in the can, and is a proven crowd-pleaser. And it doesn't seem at all dated.

I like the Electric Light Parade much better than Spectro, so I always felt a little cheated.

It was several years after the debut of MSEP in Anaheim that it went away the first time to WDW (and I hated WDW for it as a young child). It then came back in the early 80's with some great Tron upgrades. WDW developed Spectromagic (and there was a view that the parade might make it to DL one day, though I remember reading the floats were too big). A version of MSEP opened at Disneyland Paris in 1992. Then in Japan, they developed Fantillusion, designed by imagineers from around the globe with the view it would travel the resorts (and it did, moving from Tokyo, to PAris where it performs now). Then MSEP went to WDW again for the turn of the Millenium, with the view that Light Magic would replace it(we all knew how that worked out). It meant we were able to see my fav night parade in WDW for our Honeymoon in 2000. MSEP left Paris for an unknown destination, though at the time it was rumoured to be Hong KOng. I really miss it, Fantillusion is terrible in comparison, heck, I even prefer Spectro to Fanti. Of course in the meantime, MSEP then of course returned to California to DCA. And we loved that. Now I do not know as much about Tokyo's night parade history (I am sure others can fill the gap), but I do know that Dreamlights looks impressive and could be the contender for the best light parade. I am pleased for WDW as MSEP is my fav light parade I have seen, having enjoyed it for many years in Cal, Paris and on my honeymoon in WDW, it is up there with PotC and HM for my fav attractions. I hope the WDW audience enjoy. But there is the DL fan in me that makes me sad that it is glowing away again.

Parades are just bonus's offered not the main attraction.
