There's a lot of rose-colored (or nostalgia-colored) glasses looking at the old Flying Saucers. When you actually look at old footage, the capacity wasn't very much at all (especially because they only sat one person each), and most people are struggling to get them to move at any sort of pace. Often the people just sort of bounce up and down. As with Luigi, the novelty of the ride system had big appeal. And as with Luigi, it was a ride that sort of SHOULD have been more fun than it actually was - and tinged with nostalgia, the myth was that it actually was.
