The first list is a pretty good one - you can always tell that a "movie list" is worth taking seriously if they throw in some silent movies and/or obscure foreign fare. The 2nd list is obviously an attempt to throw in some of the most recent splatter flicks - but really, "Children of the Corn" in the top 10 ???

    I just saw the second the list the other day. I thought the first Saw should have been number one, it was far scarier than anything in Hostel.

    As for Willy Wonka being on the list... I saw it at the drive-in as a kid (first run, yes I'm THAT old) and the blue berry scene scared the snot outta me, lol.

    Silence of the Lambs is always toward the top of these scary movie lists. I'm convinced that I must have missed something in that movie. It was good, but I've never understood how gah-gah people are about it. As movies about Hannibal Lechter go, I thought 'Manhunter' with William Petersen was the better of the two.
