Our family makes a paper chain starting the day we decide to actually go. We write on each chain the date, how many days are left before we go, and the name (or initial) of who's turn it is to rip that peice of the chain off... My kids absolutely love it !! It's fun to see how long the chain is in the beginning, and watch it get shorter and shorter as the days tick by ! The last chain, which is the day we actually leave is ripped off by my sweet hubby who is the one who makes the trip possible for us every year !! We also mark off on the calendar, too, but the paper chain is the big hit here !! Would love to hear other ideas from you all !!!

I cut out squares of the countdown days usually 30 is a good place to start with.

I put the squares on a cardboard decorated with Mickey. Each morning I call the grands and we say "how many days left" and pull off our squares together.

They get so excited the closer we get. OK I get more excited than them. O))

But we do make a list of Disney movies (mostly related to attractions) and start watching them before hand. This year we added movies that just have a Disney theme or remind us somehow of DL and we had around 70 movies listed! We always start with Walt -Man behind the myth and then the Opening of DL in 1955. So it's alot of fun.

I also check in on LP every day to see my countdown number!

We used to make matching tie-dye shirts with Mickey silhouettes, but my 16-year-old has balked lately!

I like the idea about the matching shirts. I seriously doubt my family would go for it.
