    I always figured the lawsuit filed by the author of the Roger Rabbit novel was in an obstacle to any sequels.

Live-action and animation combined won't be that cool anymore. One of the reasons "Roger Rabbit" was so successful was because of the innovative special effects. Now- hardly anything is impossible in the movies.
