Christmas Time @ Disneyland - Candlelight Processi

Our son and daughter-in-law are planning their DLR trip for the first week of December - do they still do this - (if I even have the correct name for it!),and does it affect attendance levels and/or park hours? I also remember reading something about Disneyland closing early for private or Cast Member parties - is that true? Any info would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

Yes they do, it is amazing..hope the weather holds out...it rained on one of the nights last year..we just love it..

Candlelight processional and ceremony occurs the first weekend of December (usually). Attendance is very heavy, and it is a complete nightmare. I wouldn't miss it. It is wonderful experience.

On the Monday and Tuesday following Candlelight, Disneyland closes early (5pm) so the park can be cleared for the cast member parties. DCA does stay open later that night to occomodate the crowds, but we have found that is a good night to eat at the Napa Rose and enjoy the hotels a bit.

Last year the cast parties we're a week later, but I heard that this year they were to be on Monday and Tuesday following Candlelight as in past years.
