My biggest complaints about the show is that it's way too much trouble to get a decent viewing spot, and the seating (hard pavement for hours) is really uncomfortable. Not to mention the almost unbearable crowds and bottlenecks that form when the show concludes. I usually skip it for those reasons. Hopefully WOC will have a better viewing set-up and crowd control than Fantasmic does.

I always show up 15 mins before showtime and get a perfect spot. Of course I stand, but I think thats the best way to view it. I think waiting there hours before is such a waste of time.

Then again, with half of Paradise Pier closed people may not want to go that way anyhow, problem solved.

When the first show get out, go to the train and ride around to NOS station. All the crowds are moving toward main street, just let them go and make your way down to a great location.

When everybody wants to leave at the end of the show, they can just stand up, turn around and walk down the widest path in either park toward the exit. Compare that with the bottleneck next to the treehouse after Fantasmic!, and I think that alone will be reason enough to give it a leg up on the competition.

While Hans' "wait and see" advice about not judging the show until ya see it is prudent, I'll go out on a limb here and say that I fully expect that WOC will be awesome. On par with Fantasmic, better in some ways, perhaps, not so much in other ways, but it's like comparing apples to oranges. It'll just be different, and that's what we want. Fantasmic is great and worth all the hassles. WOC will be, too, but in this case, the access, viewing, and exiting will probably go a lot smoother since every single thing is being custom planned for dealing with this show. Yes, I hate the performance corridor's wide, barren, waste of space feel. But this is probably the single most significant reason where that will come in handy. Frankly, I'd rather see them build stuff into the edges of the performance corridor and choke down on it some, and make the space that much more compelling during the other 23 hours of the day when it is not being used as an exit corridor. And that may happen in time. But for now, the bad vibe I get from one of DCA's psychologically depressing original features (that awful performance corridor) will most likely pale in comparison to the joy I receive from WOC.
