The story goes that Eisner did a rush job on that park because he wanted to get the place opened before Universal got their park off the ground the following year. There seems to be some truth to this story as everything about the park beyond Hollywood Blvd with the exception of the Animation studio (is that still there?) doesn't seemed fleshed out in the traditional Disney way. To top it off I've never been a fan of the park's signature attraction, The Great Movie Ride. To me DHS is an odd duck. The details are there, but the sense of story and continuity seems to be missing for the most part. The place seems like a mish-mash of things - kind of like the park that gets all the stuff that doesn't fit in WDW's other 3 parks. For me DCA is the better park of the two, one because the storytelling is a bit more clear, and two because there is a better variety of attractions offered. ToT, Screamin', Animation, AND Soarin' in the same park? Gotta love it.

Every Christmas - The Ozzy Osbourne light show. ;p - just had to throw the Ozzy part in there for a laugh. And there are other nice things to DHS like the drive-in theater restaurant, Brown Derby. Even Catastrophe Canyon .. even though the tram ride has been drastically dwindled down ...... it's still it's own "animal" to contain enough of it's own attractions to still be a "must" visit. But if WoC is not ruined too much by Iger's hands .. and turns out to be something really special ... that alone would make me choose DCA over DHS.

Still .... some day in DCA's future .. they need a PotC/Great Movie Ride .. experience that cements DCA into the Great Disney Theme Park family.

Although it's a different kind of experience, I do think that Radiator Springs Racers will be the signature E ticket for DCA. That is, util they clone it at some other park. That ride is great for chatting it up with your fellow riders. For some reason I've always had a good laugh with whatever party we've ridden with on GRR, especially when someone gets dunked real good.

Did you and your daughter ride it at night? Was it during the more "chilly" months? The point I'm driving at ... surely you didn't go during a cold or cooler time .. nor in or approaching evening ... but on a warm sunny day. I'm willing to bet the farm that's exactly what you did. As GRR is really more geared as a "seasonal" type ride where gallons of water being dumped on us, is really only tolerated .. will be if we can dry quick enough. All that acreage for a 'seasonal' ride? Should be a "show stopping" ride that can't take riders anytime, any day, any month .. no matter what the _outside_ weather may be.
