Originally Posted By Labuda "I never knew the cookies were different and now i am wanting to try something else!" Well, the different bakeries supply different areas. And according to my friend Jeffrey who's tried both, I need to get my hands on some Thin Mints from whichever bakery is not the one that supplies our local cookies here in Austin. Which means that next year when it's cookie time, I need to hook up with an LPer in Washington state since I think Jeffrey specifically mentioned that WA gets the other bakery than the one we get here in Austin.

Originally Posted By Labuda Nope, not the same thing. Thin Mints are a crispy cookie covered in a thin layer of chocolate. Maybe next year I'll do what I used to always do and get 2 boxes then fill the freezer and allow myself a box a month), so I'll let someone else tell us that part for certain. Your cookies sound kinda nifty, though - remind me when they're on sale in the fall and I'll maybe buy a box. Just hoot you the money for that and hipping via Paypal or some such.

Mmmm, I want to eat all the different types now.

Trust me on this - I was buying them 12 boxes at a time from about 1999-2007 or so, and had always bought at least two boxes a year before that, going as far back as 1995 or so. So I'll guess you've gotten cookies from the bakery that the councils I've been around don't use. No idea if the Thin Mints I had as a kid were white or chocolate cookies, though - I just remember always finding them tasty and being bummed when Mom bought a box of the shortbread cookies instead.
