I know a lot of people feel the way you do about it. However, there are also people like me who didn't care about the characters, who were never engaged or connected to them and who were bored. I thought the technique was beautiful, but it's not a film I can ever imagine wanting to see again. I didn't see "Happy Feet" or the other nominated film whose name escapes me at the moment, so I don't know which one I would have personally voted for had I the opportunity. /cs

Cars wasn't PC, Happy Feet had an echo-friendly messege so HF won, end of story. The acadamy as a whole likes to remind itself that it's "socially consious".
