My wife and I went to Captain Kidd’s in 1995 and the food was horrible back then. Obviously things have only gotten worse. The place has such bad reviews but such an awesome location. So why doesn’t someone buy out the lease and open a new restaurant? Maybe call it ‘The Laughing Place’?  Subtle hint to Laughingplace.com to contact the property owners and put in a bid =)

Unfortunately the $27.63 that I have in checking means that I won’t be able to fulfill this dream, but if I could . . .

Name: ‘The Disney Diner’ or something else that probably would bring a cease and desist order from Disney lawyers.

Food: Low price, great taste . . . kid friendly a must of course. Lots of different wraps and sandwiches including the standard ones plus Po’Boys, Cubans, real Philly Cheesesteaks, Pulled Pork and many, many other sandwiches that are not always on menus, burgers (big thick ones), shakes etc. 50’s diner style is what I think of. Kid’s menu should be simple food and low in price.

Features: A quick counter for ‘to go’ orders where you could order items that are quick, inexpensive, filling and portable (lighter menu than the main menu)

Atmosphere: Fast and very friendly, as in ‘Disney’ friendly. No reason exceptional customer service should stop at the gates of Disneyland!

OK, I’m done . . . just really have had Disneyland on the mind lately and thought it would be a fun thread. So the question is 'What would you do if you owned Captain Kidd's?' No, blowing it up is not an option.

I would serve three menu items. Ramen Noodles, Bologna sandwhiches, and Hot Cheetos.
The only drink is Kool-Aid, which is served in a old glass jar.
Dessert will consist of whatever Hostess brand treats the day-old bread store has to offer this week. Mostly Twinkies and Ho-hos.
You will sit on old van seats propped up onto two by fours.
I will purchase flies from the local pet store and release them in the restaurant for ambience.
The waiters will wear sleeveless white "wife-beaters" and the waitresses will wear Billy Ray Cyrus t-shirts.
The circa 1980's television will be playing an endless loop of Mama's Family and Dukes of Hazzard on the Betamax.
For the kids, we will have an Atari 2600 with the game Missile Command, but we will not have the paddle controller.
We will have our owned themed characters to rival Disneyland's.
"Bad-Touch Uncle", "Pregnant Under-age Cousin" and of course, "The State Social Worker", will all mingle with the patrons and be available for pictures and autographs.

    Ah, one can dream!
