August is going to be busy anyway as most school children are still off for summer break. If you can shift to the first week in September, that would be better for crowds. If not, just know that it will be busy no matter which week you choose.

Sadly I can't hold off till september as I'll be heading to the deep south on a road trip. I'm pre-paired for summer busy, but last time I randomly rocked up on what I think was veterans day or something else in early november and it was SOOO packed that I could barely walk down the street. Thanks goodness for single rider is all I can say

The APs are unblocked, but a lot of kids around the country, including most of the locals, are back in school by then, so it sort of evens out. I have found that week to be better than most of the summer crowd wise, so that is why we are doing it again.
