It’s another of our Character Breakfasts – this time at Tusker House in DAK. After breakfast we head over to Expedition Everest to get our fast passes before going to see Finding Nemo The Musical. As usual it is a full house for this show, and we get seats all the way in the back corner, but that is no problem as you have no issues seeing from wherever you sit. I do apologize to Erica in advance for what I know she will view as an entirely awful attempt at an Australian accent by the voice who tells you that the show is about to begin. (She also felt that Bruce, the shark, sounded South African to her.) The show itself doesn’t disappoint, and I can see it every time I come to DAK … and usually do! Now it is time for us to use our Expedition Everest fastpasses, though Jason and his mom decide that they will skip this and do the Safari instead. Everyone thought I would join them as I often stay back with my wife while Iris rides EE. While it is trus that I absolutely hate the part where it goes backwards … that section is only a few seconds and other than that I enjoy riding. Since my wife is not with us this trip, I join Iris and Erica (I love the sound of that … I should … Iris’s middle name is Erika!) and we ride EE! http://www.me.com/gallery/#100.../everest Unfortunately, the Yeti which used to be so impressive, swiping inches above your head, it not working these days, and often hard to even see. We meet up with Jason and his mom, and make our way over to Camp Minnie Mickey for The Festival of the Lion King. This show is another one of those that we see every time we are here, and it never gets old. I tell myself that I have so many pictures of the show that I won’t take any more this time. Yeah … like that is going to happen! We decide at this point that we will go back to the room (Jason’s mom will head back to her house, while Iris and Jason have some chores to attend to) and relax until evening when we plan on going to City Walk at Universal and having dinner at Hard Rock Café. Iris picks us up at the hotel and we head over to Universal. We park and make the looooong walk to City Walk and Hard Rock. The lobby is quite crowded, as expected, so we settle in for what we assume will be a wait, while Iris goes to give our name in. When she gets to the podium, someone, obviously tired of waiting, puts down his beeper/vibrator and leaves. Iris picks it up to hand to the hostess when it starts vibrating. She hands it to the hostess who asks, “Daniel? Party of 2?” Iris explains what had happened and was told that we was now Daniel’s party and to simply tell the hostess upstairs that we were a party of 4! So thank you Daniel for making our wait non-existent. We sit down for a nice meal in the Woodstock Room. (Okay, so I was actually the only one of us who remembered Woodstock – and was only a short distance away while it was going on.) We leave Hard Rock and are going back to the parking garage, passing the set for the Ellen DeGeneres show which will be broadcast from City Walk. Since I-4 is a bit backed up, we head back on International Drive, giving Erica a look at some of the other sights in Orlando. Some a bit seamier than others.
