Why it is the best, becuase it comes with a $50 Disney Gift Card.

So that is better than any renewal discount, and if you want a Premium, just by the Deluxe AP voucher at Costco, and the day you use the voucher at Disneyland, just take the gift Card to the Bank of Main Street and use it to upgrade to a Premium AP (and don't forget to take your paid parking receipt to get your parking fee refunded). Also, the first day of use is always not blocked out, so no worries about what day you do it.

You can find the offer in the Gift Certificate area of the store, the Disneyland offer is a red 8/12 by 11 inch piece of Cardboard that is taken to the register (Item# 295609). You need to take the paid voucher to Disneyland to redemn it by May 31st, 2009.

One other benefit of using the Costco offer as compared to renewing, you should get a few extra days to your expiration date.

Alas, won't work, the offer has to be used by May 31st, 2009.

As for how long will they remain in the stores, my guess, March of 2009.

But yes, someone buying over $200 of merchandise at one time might make off better by renewing, but you are spending lot more money than the $339 it would cost you out of your pocket if you use the Costco option.

Yes, Disney will honor the renewal discounts if you renew at the park, officially the 30 days before the actual expiration date, but in reality, they will honor the discount for 30 days after the expiration date, with the stipulation that they will backdate the new expiration date to match the old one.

But you do not get the merchandise coupon.

The Tustin Costco had plenty, south of Disneyland on the I-5 just past the 55 (Tustin Ranch Road, east side of the freeway). (Hundreds of redemption cards in the aisle)

I presume the Fullerton Costco (on Harbor, north of Disneyland, just north of the 91 freeway at Orangethorpe) also has plenty.

This sounds like a great deal. I have not had an AP in the past, but the $50 gift card brings the price down to just a bit more than a 5-day adult PH. The differential is bigger for kids tickets, but overall for my fam it's ~$120. I think I'll go for it.

The only problem is that I'm in NorCal. We are heading down right after Thanksgiving, so I can stop at a SoCal Costco and buy them. I'm kind of a planner, so I get nervous about leaving things until the last minute... What if they run out? I guess the worst case scenario is I buy online at the Hojo computer kiosk.
