My friend and I are taking our kids (12 and 7) and I'm wondering if it would be a good snack stop. Catch the view from up there, and have something to eat and drink in a relaxed atmosphere...

I don't know that Disney knows what sort of atmosphere they're trying to build there. I do know my husband appreciated being able to buy beer or a margarita to drink with our lunch. *LOL*

Every time we've been, the wine stuff up the hill has been closed, so I've never had anything at any of the venues aside from the drink stand over by the tortilla factory. Thank you for the info! This will be the longest I've ever gotten to be at the parks (5 days), so we're looking at exploring stuff we would normally skip. I'm so used to doing a three day weekend hit and run...

We'll still have a drive (we'll be commuting down from our summer cabin - 1.5 hours in good traffic, worse if something goes nuts, which it very well may). It should still be good, with so much time to spread things out. At least I'm not having to make the 4 hour drive there and back in one day (8 hours of driving means no day trips for us!).
