I am just posting this to share with you all how thrilled I am and how happy I've been over the last year or so since I've embraced my love of music more... by the end of 2011, I'll have seen the following legends for the first time ever: Steve Miller Band George Thorogood Earth, Wind, and Fire Stevie Wonder (the ONLY show I've ever been to where I spontaneously danced instead of just tapping my feet and whatnot) The Moody Blues Weird Al Yankovic Peter Frampton Dream Theatre (they're 14 days from today) Rev Horton Heat Buddy Guy (AMAZING) Leon Russell (he opened for BB King here on Sunday) OMD Then, on 15 Nov I'm selling the Morrissey tickets I bought because.... ARETHA FRANKLIN is coming here to do a show! No way on EARTH would I miss my chance to see her, especially after the health issues she had a while back. I cannot WAIT, and I am SO VERY THRILLED that I live in Austin where we can actually GET shows like this! (Oh, and in February I'll be seeing Loretta Lynn and They Might be Giants! FUN!)

I am always on top of who's coming nearby and when, and I am making it a priority to see them. Just about broke my heart when the singer for Def Leppard lost his father and they rescheduled their San Antonio date where they were going to share a stage with Heart (omg, the mullet-watching I could have done! It would have been AWESOME!) to the SAME day my boyfriend and I were going to see Weird Al here. That was a total bummer! Oh, and I think BB King is just about done touring based on something he said the other night. If that's the case, then I'm even MORE happy that he was jsut here and I was there to see him. (And got about a 20-minute recording of him! hehe) "<(Oh, and in February I'll be seeing Loretta Lynn and They Might be Giants! FUN!)> Together? (?!)" tee hee! Nope, dabob, they are about 11 days and 5 blocks away from each other. hehe Oh, and btw, I ended up giving my Mark Jamsganer (Yeah, I butchered his name, but you know who I mean) CDs to my Mom, and I was right. She LOVES them! I'm going to get her the rest... she has two so far. Oh, and Marcia Ball was great tonight, Pat Green has made me a fan, and Los Lonely Boys were cool as heck! WOOT!

Oh, and call me a wack job, but that means a lot to me, Dave. I respect your taste in music and am FLOORED that you think your list pales when compared to mine.

I'm lucky in that, for the most part, I always discover a new band I've never before heard of but end up liking enough to buy at least one cd of theirs.
