Is this hard to do? Finally, after the third time the lady in whatever metropolian area the 800 number is housed told me that they had to deliver it to my address between 8-5, I agreed to take the morning off to wait for the Fed Ex person. Here I sit, waiting for Fed Ex. If they don't arrive within the next hour then I am not sure what to do. Has anyone had their package rerouted?

I called immediately and fortunately the guy was still delivering just about a minute away. I'm surprised the FedEx representative didn't tell you that you could just leave a note. Arrrgh! Hope it works out for you!

Still waiting--have to leave soon!

We live 30 to 45 min from the hub so we have had to drive there before to pick up packages that were going to be sent back because we had missed all the delivery attempts. I feel your pain on this one especially wanting your DL package. Hope you have a wonderful trip!

This is true even if you've signed a waiver in the past. For some reason FedEx is not publicizing this well (if at all). My guess is either it's a security thing, or somebody sued FedEx when they didn't get something that was dropped off. The only way for it to be routed to a different address is for the sender to authorize a reroute (which I presume FedEx will charge for). This happened to me twice before I started having everything delivered to my office. Good luck!

Because the company used Fed Ex Home, they kept trying to deliver after hours when the office was closed. It was a royal pain trying to get that sorted out!

I had left a note and asked him to try Friday afternoon--he replied and said he would. Another day and a half of waiting for that magical information! Bummer!
