That said, I somehow completely missed that it was based on storied by Edgar Rice Burroughs. I remember there being talk about the original source, but I think they probably should have played up his name and/or Tarzan some more, assuming his estate would allow it (I know they're pretty strict)

Especially since I've watched Friday Night Lights after seeing the movie. I don't know if it would improve or bring down the character seeing him through the "Tim Riggins"

I'm glad another studio is getting a shot at this franchise.

He can't put on his weird hat every time out. He did an outstanding job in Finding Neverland with a very understated performance.

I thought it was better than the box office showed, but did not like how Depp approached his role.

It was dire. Sadly Andrews is one of Lasseter's drinking buddies so he is bulletproof. Hence why he has been overhauling The Good Dinosaur. Talent isn't necessarily a prerequisite to be a member of his extended "brain trust" any more.

I'm not sure it is filmic at all. Best of luck to any one else that wants to have a pop but I'm not sure the source material is good enough to create a tentpole franchise.

That's the nail in the coffin lid. Ugh. I've got little hope for GD now.

No wonder all of my friends have left E-Ville. (The last one left this past summer.) Some of them had been there since the Point Richmond days, and had significant dept seniority. That's very telling.

The bloom has been coming off the rose for Pixar since Cars 2. The films simply don't spark and sizzle anymore. And folks like Andrews are part of the reason why.
