Every time I read about what's no longer at WDW it makes me wonder why these attractions were eliminated in the first place. I feel sort of like I'm being shortchanged now.

Oh and I agree about Welch's ... maybe it's because it's from childhood but nothing can top those frozen grape bars and fresh iced juice. Certainly not the much more pedestrian Dole Whips.

But I am sure the MK is a more magical place with a FP station there instead!

Otherwise very interesting, especially the mention of Michael Iceberg. LOVED that guy! He was kinda crazy, and I always had the feeling that he was about to snap at any second!!!

Oh & what mother could forget the post-Welchs 'purple mouth' the better to gross people out with.;) I'll take the Dole Whip anytime(sorry Spirit).

The day time fireworks in the pic look like the ones from EPCOT's 10th anniversary in 1992. I must admit that my pics aren't as good since I was taking them I believe with my Kodak 110.

Those pics reminded me of another thing we will most likely never see again. Our 2nd child celebrated her 14th birthday during that visit she got to pick the park that day.

Her pick was MK we ate lunch @ Tony's(back when they served breakfast). When I made the reservation I mentioned it was her b-day. They brought out what must have been a 6-8" cake with a silk screen of Mickey,Goofy & Donald on top & the CMs sang to her @ no additional cost.

BTW for you trivia buffs it was the 1st Sat in June of 1992 which was also the 2nd(I pretty sure the shirts said 2nd) annual Gay/Lesbian Days @ WDW. A sea of red shirts & a day of fun watching the uber straights reactions.

Anyway thanks for the thread it really did bring back some VERY fond memories.

OK I didn't take those pics with a 110 I found the pics with the negatives(remember those before digital)& it was clearly a 35mm but obviously with a not so good zoom.

Boy my CRS is getting worse all the time.;)

I have to tell you that a very guilty pleasure of mine is visiting WDW during that time and just observing ... it is pure magic with faires and pixie dust ... and scared middle-Americans.

    Always a fun time!

Actually in fairness it was only the men pulling their shirts off in public but you get the idea.

    Again great thread.

And Spirit we need to talk about July.:)
