Once I made the adjustment that I wasn't going to be storming the park like I usually do, it really turned into a fun, laid back day. We of course took things at Shaelyn's pace, and made time for things like Dumbo, the Carousel and of course many characters. I have a treasured pic of her meeting a giant (to her!) Mickey, and the look of awe on her face was priceless! Glad you had a fun day!!!

My son went through the gates of DL when he was about 3months old and the other two about the same. The first trip to WDW we made as a family(I went when I was single)they were almost 3 and almost 1 and the baby in the family several years after. I still tend to tell folks that if they feel it will be a once in a life time trip and they want their child to remember any of it 5 or 6 is probably the age to consider. But I couldn't agree with you more about the "face". I remember when my middle child(now 28) ran up to Mickey when she was about 4 and hugged him and said "remember me". It was priceless especially when Mickey shook his head yes. She came back and told her Dad "see I telled you he would remember me".

Seeing WDW through the eyes of a child is an amazing experience.
