It seems like made-for-TV movies have fallen out of fashion in recent years (unless you're Hallmark or Lifetime, where they're going strong as ever), so it will be interesting to see if this potentially changes that

I really think this time around, they will pick someone who they know is popular, yet also has stage experience or knows how to act and sing. If that one does well, then I think the trend will become a trend.
