That said, I'm glad that they do still offer some special one-time-only events like this. The logistics of this can't be easy (especially coordinating with Letterman in NYC the same day), so I'm always impressed with how quickly they pull it off. I'm also glad that Mickey isn't wearing his helmet this year; it just never quite looked right

But that banner? "Disney Parks Celebrates Superbowl Champions"? Could it get any more generic or gramatically incorrect (parks celebrates?)?

Mickey needs to stop dressing up in regular clothing. He looks absolutely ridiculous in anything!

Maybe, but I thought it was still considered Walt Disney Parks and Resorts from a corporate level. I think the Disney Parks label is much more informal, and typically only refers to DLR and WDW, not the international parks, off-site DVC, Adventures by Disney, or the cruise line. That said, the banner stood out to me mostly because it felt so bland and corporate, like those Disney Parks T-shirts they had in stores circa 2008 that nobody ever bought

    >>They only let the MVP come to the park? He must get lonely all by himself.<<

In all fairness, he's probably in Orlando for less than 2 hours. The parade is typically the day after the game, and he also makes an appearance on Letterman that night (though it typically films in the late afternoon). Once you figure travel times in there, there's hardly enough time to feel lonely

    >>Mickey needs to stop dressing up in regular clothing. He looks absolutely ridiculous in anything!<<

He's actually wearing a football uniform, not "regular" clothing. It's a lot more obvious when he has the helmet on, but that has a tendency to look a little ridiculous as well:

That said, Mickey has far more variety in his outfits in WDW than at DL, where he's typically in formalwear. He has dozens of different looks for different locations and settings, and some of them look better than others. One of his more distinct (and silly looking) outfits is his golf look:

Well that's because it IS bland and corporate. But then again, why else would they invite the Super Bowl MVP to the MK other than for a brand marketing stunt?

Shouldn't it be the same for the parks?

As much as Disney likes to homogenize things these days, I'm really glad they keep using all the different outfits in WDW, even if some of them do look strange

The themed costumes don't bother me much. What kills me is when Mickey and Minnie try to be hip. Check out this dance battle:

And what do you get when you combine a Mouse rubberhead, a specialty costume, and a complicated dance routine? An embarrassing face plant:
