My favorite one was on the legal issues. I found it absolutely entertaining and loved every word.

Thank-you very much for these columns. I read everyone of the columns back in the archive. They were/are one of my favourite columns regardless of topic. It is simply amazing to get an inside look at the workings of disneyland/attractions/wdi etc.

The columns also gave me the opportunity to see into the personality of a valued Disney employee. It made me appreciate all your work, knowing that a caring person was behind the work. It is also very inspiring to see people active for so long. One of the people I look up to is a lady named Hazel who has been mayor for longer then i've been alive (since 78 I beleive) of a city of over half a million.

I hope one day that I can look back and see that I have contributed as much as people like you have. I also hope that I can enjoy my passions well past retirement date.

Seeing your custom RV also showed me how much people like you, Walt Disney and others are very much "normal people" who are down to earth. To see that you don't need a mega million dollar deisel pusher based on a Prevost or something, and get along with a nice B-Class unit that's been around for awhile.

For me this is an inspiration to see "an everyday" non degreed to death, non high and mighty person can help make things that have brought joy and happiness to so many people.

I would also like to steal some of Bob's lime light for a moment and thank people like Doobie who helped so many of us meet Bob.

It's nice to be surrounded by Uncle Walt, Uncle Bob, and all the other people that have given us a special place.

And we look forward to encore Designer Times, even though you'll be busy we're sure that you'll have time to let us know whats happening. Even if it's just a yearly paragraph.

In many ways this experience has made it seem like we (the general public who have been lucky enough to find this column) was a part of the creation and ingenuity.

I hope that you will see this message, along with the countless others expressing our thanks. It's amazing that you did this for so many years.

I was never one for writing letters, so forgive me how lame this may sound. It is a sincere gratitude for having so many articles written over the years.

Although you won't be here, you won't be forgotten. I do hope to hear occasionally a paragraph or two. It would be nice to know "Hey i just enjoyed going to Tokyo, I just curled in Edmonton, during the last year I dug a tunnel to the centre of the earth and found Atlantis..."

    Sincerly,

    Mark

    One of your many "nephews"

Hey I can dream i'm part of the Disney family right?

I have always admired your your writing, normally I am not a technical guy, far from an engineering type, and normally bored with technical talk, but with a lil pixie dust and your drive and imagination, your articles held my interest. Who else could throw around terms like "AR-240 Strong Motion Accelerograph Recorder" and make me wanna read more.

I have had the opportunity to meet Bob Gurr at various events, one of my favorite pictures is of Mr Gurr signing a litho for me. Another is a signed copy of Bob Gurr by Walt's autopia car, I have that one framed here in my office. MR Gurr is always friendly and happy to talk to Disney fans.

Thank you for your work at Disneyland. Imagine how many guys today have fond childhood memories of their first pre-real car driving experience from driving an autopia car at Disneyland. I know Autopia was my favorite attraction as a young boy. Your work on Mr Lincoln, Monorail, Matterhorn, and more. I thank you. I also thank you for sharing your memories here on LP. I didn't always comment on them and didn't always read them the same day they came out, but I always went back to read them and always enjoyed them.

Wishing you well in your very active life, hope to see you again someday.

As a mechanically inclined person, who's father worked at a Ford axle plant (in Sterling Hts) for 30 years, and a mother who worked with the GM Technology Center, I can definately appreciate your "layman" explanations, and approaches, to solving everything the Disney Co. threw at you. You're truly an inspiration.

Also... thank you again for granting my request and taking the time to talk to Dave O'Neal at Extinct Attractions a year or so back. I can't believe the excellent work you've done with him, and the connections he now has because of you. Because of your efforts, we'll all have these memories for many, many years. Ears off to you!

Keep on mountain biking (a love of mine) and vacationing, you deserve the finest in your Golden Ears. 8):)
