We ate at Marrakesh at 4pm - everyone ordered a full meal and a beverage, but one nephew just ordered a fruit drink, telling the server he wasn't hungry.

The assistant server brought him a meal tho, the same thing my sis had ordered. He said something to my nephew, which I didn't hear, as he was furthest from me. But I figured he was either trying to be nice, or there had been a mixup in the kitchen and they'd made 2 of the dish my sis ordered. Anyhoo, I've often had extra food delivered at nice restaurants... but never *charged* for something that hadn't been asked for!

My nephew picked a bit at the meal, and the assistant (somewhat oddly) urged him to "get hungry" and eat it. Whatever. When the bill came, I called the server over and told him we were charged for that meal which we didn't order. Did you send it back, he asked? This seemed weird. I mean, you place unordered food in front of a minor and expect them to say "take it back"? He did agree to take the charge off tho.

Then my sis was telling me about this TV show she'd recently seen, about how servers overcharge to get a higher tip, and sometimes pocket the overcharge as well. She wasn't saying that's what happened here, but the whole thing seemed so weird, like there was something going on between the server and the assistant...

Then at the Prime Time Cafe, DD ordered mac and cheese, and was asked if she wanted the adult portion. She said yes... much later (service was incredibly slow here, even tho we arrived before 4pm with ADRs) she got the tiniest bowl of mac and cheese (again from the assistant). When the server picked up the bowl, she noticed we'd gotten the wrong size and asked if we wanted to take the rest of the serving with us. Well, we didn't really want to carry it around all night! Still we were charged for the full portion. Not a real big deal, but not great service either...

We did adore the Trail's End and Boma buffets... and the food at Marrakesh and Prime Time was good too. Just seemed like weird ways for Disney to treat their guests??

I am very sad to hear about it and I hope it is just an isolated incident. The adult size Mac and Cheese I understand, after all, you were asked which one you wanted. But the bamboozle at Marrakesh I would be VERY interested about, and I am not so sure I would let it simply pass.

We have a party of 8 if it's just my very own immediate family, and so the gratuity is almost always included anyway. Most of the time I tip in excess of the included gratuity if the service warrants it. IF and its a big IF the guys at Marrakesh were pulling the old, "let's increase the dinner price in order to cash in a larger tip" they are idiots.

If the servers are playing this sort of game, what is going on in the kitchen. Darn if I would be satisfied with them making the price right without speaking to the manager on duty about HOW it happened.

I am shocked and surprised, and since I wasn't there myself, and have dinned countless times without ever having a money issue all over WDW, I am giving the benefit of the doubt. I'm gonna chalk this up to an isolated incident....let's hope.

I hope so too. What bugged me was being questioned about it - did you send it back? That made me very uncomfortable :-(

As far as the Mac N Cheese, they should have adjusted your bill and charged you for the smaller portion.

Our family has eaten all over WDW as well and never ran into any problems. So hopefully these were isolated incidents.

I don't tend to be a whiner, yet I realized I also had a "beef" with Boma! From the time we arrived for 45 minutes, there was a constant line of 30 to 40 people at the carving station. Our server told us it's "always like that" at that time of day, and we could cut ahead of it to get soup, salad and side dishes. These were delicious and by the time the "meat" line had died down, we'd had our fill. I just think if the line's "always" huge at 5-5:45pm, they shouldn't seat so many people at the same time! I actually thought we had the first seating with our 5pm ADRs, but found out that Fri-Sat-Sun it starts at 4:30. I'd definitely do this buffet again, but would make sure I get there *before* opening. The line snaked thru the entire restaurant!

We've never had any of the problems that you've indicated, especially at Boma. I hope your other dining experiences were better.

I have been to Boma 6 times and never seen that issue -- so when they told you it is always like that - they fibbed. Maybe the carver was new ( or slow) - orr maybe there was a group that had to have special requests - more than they usually get one time thru etc.-- not sure..but I can assure you it is not 'normal'--sorry you had that experience at a restaurant I feel is one of their best....

I assume they seat a huge number of tables right at opening, and shortly after, the line starts growing and doesn't get shorter for an hour! So I'd never go 1/2 hour after opening again. By 6pm there were less than 10 people.

Weird that we had so many issues, but the food was good, and I can't even complain about the prices. Other than getting charged for things we didn't order, or get! ;-)
