You know a show has failed to catch your attention when the most memorable thing about it is how seriously pregnant one of the co-hosts was (Samantha Brown, we love ya, but you may want to seriously consider skipping a gig when you're that far along - with twins, yet!) But that's me. What did everyone else think of the show?

However, someone did post it to YouTube -better catch it before Disney Legal pulls the plug! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LmC1iuE-9vo

I've always thought that giving the hosts less script and more time to simply give their own reactions to what they're seeing would be a big improvement. If somebody loved Disney, how hard would it be to say something sincere and interesting about every float? Of course, fewer ads would be appreciated, but that's not going to happen. Anyhow, I'm not sorry I was it. It was my first look at Minnie and Daisy with eyes and mouths that open and close! It's competently produced, it keeps moving, it's not insulting my intelligence TOO much ... I mean, what did you expect from it? I haven't seen much of the past editions, so I don't have much reference for comparison. I did see, and still have a VHS tape of, the 1-hour special they ran on the West Coast to introduce DCA when it first opened. Now THAT was a horrible piece of Disney television.

The focus in the past few years has been more and more on the obnoxious hosts and the overly edited musical performances, and I think that's what annoys me. I mean, it's not called the "Disney Christmas Day Music Special" - I want to see the World and the Land, not the usual gaggle of Disney pop stars and second-rate acts that Disney could get for cheap.

And anyone who tunes in to this broadcast expecting to see a parade ... well, I bet they think pro wrestling is real too. And Real Housewives. And the Super B --- oops, I've said too much. ;-) Didn't realize the park puffery had been reduced from previous years. I thought there was plenty.
