The trailer in question got generally negative reviews when it came out, for copying Ice Age, so it's interesting that it continues to be haunted by issues And while I haven't seen the short in question, I wonder if Disney will highlight similarities to Ice Age as a way to show that they didn't copy it

There is VERY little byplay on the ice-- most of the conflict is shown in the characters faces as they plot and plan. The "twist" (returning the carrot) has a completely different motivation. As I recall, the frozen trailer with Olaf and Sven was an early teaser that introduced two of the characters. Anyone who went to the movie based on only that just wasn't paying attention.
