It would be to bad if they don't do anything. While looking through all the photos(a three day marathon) I found many Disney celebrations.

There are people who don't keep track, and they start to think, "First it was the 25th, then the 100th, then the 50th. Now it is the 35th?" The Epcot 25th is something that will stand out, and by 2007 the 50th will be long gone. Incidentally, I read somewhere online that the WDW 40th would be a big promotion, because there are no other big company milestones celebrating an anniversary around that time. I don't know where I read that, but it was when I first read about the plans for Epcot25.

Why not celebrate Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs from the first day of the first cel that was inked? Instead of 4 years later when it was released to the theaters? Walt was not the creative driver from the day he was born and was a baby. Those features began to emerge as he grew up. Now the numbers are all jumbled up. How are we going to celebrate a true 100th anniversary some 25 years from now when we already had a 100th anniversary?

Instead of confusing people into thinking Disney World was turning 50 years old, the Florida park should have set their sights on something more appropriate--like us Cauldron girls. (I'm sure you'll all agree with me about this!!)

While there may be more to see and do now, the WDW standards for cleanlines, show quality, CMs, hotel upkeep etc have dropped precipitously from where they used to be. I'm someone in TDLFAN's category. I'm a local. I have friends that have or do work for Disney. I have been visiting WDW regularly since soon after it opened. You simply can't compare the WDW of the first 20-25 years to what we have now. The fact that WDW has held giant PR campaigns like Magical Gatherings and, now, Happiest Homecoming instead of celebrating a milestone like the 35th Anniversary speaks loudly for what Disney feels is important. Although it does seem like they're going to go big for Epcot's 25th, I must wonder if there'll be substance or just Disney slick marketing.
