Yes, that was sarcasm, but, not pointed at you. I just cannot for the life of me figure out why a FP would be need to see something visible from anyplace in the park. Just me, I know! Never cared much for Fireworks anyway. (sung to the tune of Let it Go)

They keep saying that you get access once you've used your 3, but what happens if you don't actually use one of them? We had several times when the standby queue was non-existent, so it was faster to not scan our bands, or when we simply had a change in plans. I also wonder how it will impact reservations for fireworks, which are by default late in the day; there could be a huge rush for those reservations in the evening, and the folks who had them early on wouldn't get a 4th FP >>...if you begin your morning at one of the other parks, can you still get a regular fast pass for an attraction, or does it block you since you're reserved at Magic Kingdom?<< Regular FP doesn't exist any more in WDW, they're all reserved in advance (either in-park or online). If you started at one park in the morning, you'd still be able to use your FPs at another park later, but if you wanted any FPs in the first park you would have to cancel all of your FPs for later (not just one) >>Also, the article on the parks blog mentioned that you can use FastPass+ for Fireworks, how does that work?<< There is a reserved viewing area roped off, and you just show up and tap the Mickey icon for access in. In theory it sounds good, but I suspect that it's similar to the FPs for WOC, where you still need to show up early to get a decent spot. They're currently rebuilding the hub at MK in part to allow more reserved viewing space and crowd control for parades and fireworks.

If you don't use it can you just cancel it so it's out of the system? I bet though after the time has past for your FP reservation, that would delete it and enable you to get a new Fastpass.
Originally Posted By FerretAfros >>If you don't use it can you just cancel it so it's out of the system?<< Perhaps that's part of the future functionality, but you can't do it now. The existing system forces you to get 3 FPs (even if you only want 1), and there's no way to delete them, other than by swapping it out for another attraction It will be interesting to see what attractions have availability later in the day, especially at the non-MK parks. On a Sunday in February we tried to swap out a Living with the Land FP around 1pm, and the only things available were Turtle Talk and Captain EO, neither of which have any business being in the FP system in the first place. Since there are relatively few FP-enabled attractions (and even fewer that actually do any good) in the non-MK parks, I see this being a somewhat useless feature Moral of the story: they need to build more attractions! : )

It means more time traveling (where they can't spend any money) and less time in the parks (where they are a captive audience and must spend money). Bottom line: though Disney does make money on offering the park hopper option, they realize that those who do a "marathon day" in each park will probably spend more money. That is probably the reason why adding the park hopper option is the same price regardless of whether someone buys a one day or a ten day. Still, I'm glad they are loosening up and letting guests have Fastpass+ for more than one park in one day!!!

The original plan was always to use WDW as a bit of a testing ground, since it's much larger and has a more complex stratification of guests (allowing the system to be slowly rolled out and tested). At DLR, they'll probably do some early tests with Disney hotel guests, followed by APers, then roll it out to the general public, with park hopping included the whole time
