Does anybody know where the butterfly, flower, and chicken dancer outfits came from? I would imagine they're recycled from some previous parade (Halloween, maybe?) but they don't look like anything I've seen before

There was a group of ostriches and hippos that were a part of SpectroMagic, so I would guess that's where these costumes came from (though I believe the hippos also were a part of DL's Parade of the Stars in the early 00's)

In that case, they should celebrate it on the first day of Spring and not on Easter Sunday. In a way I would prefer that as from the images shown the tone was not religious at all, and it could easily pass for a generic, secular event.

That said, given the overtly religious and liturgical tone of the Candlelight Processionals, I don't see how having a more religious parade would go any further.

But I since I doubt I'll ever be there over Easter, it's kind of "doesn't matter to me anyway" kind of thing.

I love Mr&Mrs Easter Bunny driving along Main Street waving to children. They also surprised everybody by arriving on the WDW Steam Train for the Good Morning Opening Celebration with Mickey and Minnie and the Mayor and boy did the train engineers let the steam roar and the whistle explode with sound Delighting ever man women and child that morn. I almost started to cry thinking that anybody would dare to imply the steam train has lost its appeal in modern society.
I also would hate to miss the Azaelea Trail Maidens as they elegantly stroll down Main Street in perfect unison twirling their matching parasols with matching hand embroidered gloves. At certain points along the parade route they all stop and curtsy. I suppose some would call this outdated for young women but it is a symbol of god old southern charm and these young ladies earn this privilege by maintaining excellent grades and volunteering for many hours of charity benefits. Please do not miss the chance to see them if you are fortunate to be at the MK next Easter.

Not that any other theme park is going to be in a hurry to have characters riding each other... not in public anyway.

But from the looks of it, the combined costume isn't much taller than the standard height for 'tall' characters (Goofy, Captain Hook, etc). Still, I think it would be funny to watch their non-dress rehearsals, since the one performer would likely be about a foot taller than everybody else (including Snow White)

I haven't heard about any proposed patents for costumes though

I rarely joke around or criticize. I should report myself to moderator once again.
